In 1873 after the International Railway Bridge was built, a little town named Victoria was subsequently renamed Bridgeburg which was north of the original settlement of Fort Erie. Even though Bridgeburg united with Fort Erie in 1932 with additional amalgamations of Bertie Township in 1970, the name "Bridgeburg" still lives on today to those who know and remember the little "North End" of town.
A new resurgence of Bridgeburg has been growing and getting stronger. For the past three years, I have been honoured and excited to participate in this revitalization through the arts and the Bridgeburg Business Improvement Association (BBIA).
The BBIA has hosted a day of fun and community activities every September since 2015 and every year, a new art idea/theme has been created. The events have drawn in crowds of thousands to reacquaint with old friends and family and believe these events will grow stronger with the help and support of our community and beyond.
